January 6, 2012 - Roka's Blessing Day

So grateful for my wonderful husband being able to bless sweet Roka!  All who were in the circle:

Grumps (Grandpa Raymond)
Papa (Grandpa Gibbons)
Dave Callister
Michael Gibbons
Eric Larsen
Luke Flinders
Ben Raymond
Justin Chidester
Dave ZoBell
Bishop Matthew Chidester

It was so fun to have family there!  My dad bore his testimony about Great-Grandpa Tingey (I'm pretty sure it was him... i'll have to double check) who served a mission in New Zealand and met a sweet Maori girl named Roka - named his daughter Roka, and now my baby is Roka!  Guy also bore a sweet testimony.  I love my family!

We had crepes at the studio afterwards (thanks to my family members!  Namely Lucie, Momma Ray, Megan, Aymee, and Cha - and their spouses :).  Here are some of the decorations -

and here is the sweet pea herself.  Mimi (Lucie Gibbons) made her BEAUTIFUL flower she is wearing.  A great day to be thankful!

Roka Lee has so many nicknames like such as :

Sniglet
Snig
Tika (the twins - Lucie and Lily - can't say Roka, so they say Tika)
Roka Boca

can't think of the other ones.  i'll put them down when i remember.

Roka is 1 month old!  Can't believe it.  Time sure is flying by.  She is getting so big!  I swear she was posing for these pictures.  She was being SO good, just looking at the camera and staying still.  Or, as you can see -  her princess pose (the pink picture).  She stayed in that position for a little while, and giving us some gems.  What a cutie!

Today it snowed like 15 inches.  It is freezing outside.  Since we could not drive anywhere with the awful weather, we had to think of how to take the pictures at home.  So, these pictures are brought to you by the help of cheap equipment at our own apartment.  Guy used his camera, and we used a light bought from walmart  covered with a white shirt.  She is laying on a cheap green sheet - you'd never know with my husbands magic!

Our sweet Roka Lee came to us on December 11, 2012.  Her due date was 12/8/12, so she was waiting to come on her daddy's birthday (her ultrasound on the first doctor's visit said she'd come 12/12/12, so we don't really know if she came "early" or "late").

right after she was born - when they put her on me.  They originally put her a lot lower than that, but she used her strong leg muscles to crawl up me!  She finally stopped when she had her cute head nestled into my neck.  She is a snuggler already!  She was 6 lbs, 14 oz, and 20.5 inches.  Long, skinny, and super cute!

taking her home 12/12/12 in her cute outfit that is too big for her! :)  I love her to death.  She is the cutest thing in the world.  We are so blessed to have such a beautiful princess!

WOWZERS - what a handsome man!

Happy Anniversary to my love!  We have been married one whole year.  What a great thing!  I woke up to the yummiest breakfast in bed, and a single beautiful red rose.  I love having our Anniversary around Thanksgiving.  We get to focus on all the things we are grateful for, and what an amazing blessing it is to be married to your best friend!  I am excited for many more anniversary's to come.  I love you, Guy Richey!
